Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-13
These terms are the agreement between you and Accura AI (Pty) Ltd ("Akurra", "we", "us") for your use of Akurra AI at app.akurra.ai (the "Service"). Please read them. Where a clause limits our liability, places a risk on you, or gives up a right you would otherwise have, it is printed in bold so you can find it, as the Consumer Protection Act requires.
Our Privacy Notice explains what personal information we handle and why. The companies that process information for us are listed in Schedule A — Sub-processors at the end of these terms. The Privacy Notice and Schedule A form part of these terms.

2. What Akurra AI does — and what it does not do
2.1 Akurra AI recomputes the interest and instalments charged on a credit facility (for example an overdraft, a vehicle or personal loan, a term loan or a home loan) from the figures you give it, compares them with what the lender charged, and produces an on-screen result and, where your credit allows, a report setting out the working month by month.
2.2 Akurra AI does arithmetic. It does not give legal, financial, tax or credit advice. We are not attorneys, debt counsellors, financial services providers or credit providers. A result is not a finding that your lender acted unlawfully, and a result showing no difference is not a finding that your account is correct. Nothing in the Service is an opinion on whether you have a claim, what it is worth, or what you should do.
2.3 You agree to have any figure checked by an admitted attorney, a registered auditor or another suitably qualified professional before you rely on it, act on it, or present it to your lender, an ombud, a regulator or a court. The report is built so that a professional can check it without redoing the work. That check is your responsibility.
2.4 The result depends entirely on what goes in. If an agreement, statement or figure is incomplete, wrong, or read incorrectly, the result will be wrong. You are responsible for checking every figure the Service reads or that you type, and the Service asks you to confirm them.
2.5 Akurra AI does not assess over-indebtedness, does not provide debt counselling or debt review, and does not negotiate with, complain to or act against any lender on your behalf.
3. Your account
3.1 You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
3.2 Keep your password private and turn on two-step verification where offered. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless you tell us promptly that it has been compromised. Report suspected misuse to info@akurra.ai.
3.3 One account is for one person. Do not share an account or sell access to it.
3.4 Use the Service only for facilities that are yours, or that you are authorised to analyse — for example as the account holder, a director of the account-holding company, or a professional instructed by the account holder. You confirm that you have the right to upload every document you give the Service, and that doing so does not breach any confidentiality duty you owe.
4. Your documents and your data
4.1 Computed on your device. Every figure in your result is calculated in your browser, on your own device. The documents you add are read by Deep Analysis, as clause 4.2 describes. We keep no copy of your statements, agreements, account numbers, rates or the figures computed from them. When you close the tab, your run is gone from your device, and we cannot recover a run you did not save.
4.2 Deep Analysis reads your documents, and needs your consent. Deep Analysis is how the Service reads the documents you add. At the start of each run you are shown a box that is not ticked. By ticking it you consent to the content of every document you add in that run being sent to our contracted AI sub-processor to read the figures out of them. Nothing is sent or charged before you tick it, and there is no separate choice for each document. Without that consent a run cannot start, and the Service cannot be used. When your result is ready, the figures your device worked out and the terms read from your agreement are sent once more so that your report can include a plain-language review. Your account number and your name are not part of that review. Our Privacy Notice describes this in full, including where the processing happens and how long the sub-processor may keep the content. You can type or correct any figure yourself, and where a document cannot be read you type its figures in.
4.3 AI-written content. The plain-language review is written by an AI model and is labelled as such in your report. Every figure in it is checked against the figures your device calculated, and the whole section is left out if one cannot be matched. It can still be wrong, incomplete or badly put, and it is not advice.
4.4 You keep all rights in your documents and data. You give us only the permission we need to provide the Service to you: to process what you send under Deep Analysis, and to hold the account, credit and payment records described in our Privacy Notice.
4.5 Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the Service without paying you for them. We will not identify you publicly without your permission.
4.6 Acting for someone else. If you use the Service for a client or for another person, the documents you add are theirs, and they are sent to the AI sub-processor in the same way. You must be permitted to send them (clause 3.4). An account that we have set up to act for clients is asked, at the start of each run, to confirm that permission, and the confirmation is recorded in the report.
5. Credits, prices and payment
5.1 A run uses a credit. A credit covers one facility end to end, including the report, unless it is a promotional credit (see 5.4). Prices are shown in rand and are shown before you pay. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and no tax invoice is issued. The current price is R 29 per credit.
5.2 When a credit is used. A credit is held when a run begins and used when the first result is shown on screen. A run that never reaches a result uses no credit; a held credit that is not used is returned automatically. A credit that has been used is not returned if you leave afterwards.
5.3 Kinds of credit. Complimentary credits are issued free of charge and do not expire. Credits you buy remain valid for at least three years from purchase, as section 63 of the Consumer Protection Act requires. The Service uses complimentary credits first, then bought credits, then promotional credits, and tells you which kind a run will use before it starts.
5.4 Promotional credits come from promotion codes. A promotional credit shows the result on screen but not the report. Unlocking the report uses one complimentary or bought credit. A promotion code can be redeemed once per account, has no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and stops working after its end date. Credits already received from it do not expire.
5.5 Card payments are taken on the payment page of our payment service provider, not on our pages. We never see or store your full card number. When card payments are available, the provider's terms also apply to the payment.
5.6 Cooling-off. If you buy credits online you may cancel the purchase within seven days, without reason or penalty, under section 44 of ECTA. We refund the full price of unused credits within 30 days of your cancellation. Section 44 does not apply to a credit you have already used, because the service was supplied with your consent before the cooling-off period ended (section 42(2) of ECTA). To cancel, email info@akurra.ai.
5.7 Outside the cooling-off period, unused bought credits are refundable only where the law requires it or we decide to refund them. If the Service fails to work as described and we cannot fix it, we will return the credit used or refund it.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading, including fabricating or altering statements, agreements or reports;
- present an altered, incomplete or unsigned report as one produced by Akurra AI, or remove the labels that say which parts were written by AI or read by Deep Analysis;
- upload documents that belong to someone else without their authority;
- probe, scan or test the Service's security, or bypass its limits, credit checks or access controls, except under a written agreement with us;
- copy, reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the Service's calculation methods, source code or report formats to build a competing product, except to the extent the law expressly allows;
- overload the Service, use automated means to access it, or resell it;
- upload malware or content intended to manipulate the AI processing (for example hidden instructions in a document).
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules (see section 9).
7. Our intellectual property
7.1 The Service — its software, calculation engine, methods, report layouts, text and the Akurra AI name and marks — belongs to Accura AI (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. Parts of it may be the subject of patent applications. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose while your account is open. They do not give you any other right in our intellectual property.
7.2 Reports produced for you are yours to use, share with your professional advisers, and present in any dispute about the facility they cover.
8. Liability
8.1 Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act, or liability for our gross negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct.
8.2 Subject to 8.1, we are not liable for any loss arising from: a decision you or anyone else makes on the strength of a result or report without the professional check required by clause 2.3; figures, documents or information you supplied or confirmed being wrong or incomplete; the Service being unavailable; or anything outside our reasonable control.
8.3 Subject to 8.1, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of a claim, or wasted legal costs.
8.4 Subject to 8.1, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or [to be supplied: liability cap amount in rand].
8.5 If you use the Service for a business, you indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your breach of section 3.4 or section 6.
8.6 Screens, features, prices and these terms may change, the Service may be unavailable at times, and features may be withdrawn. We provide the Service "as is", and to the extent the law allows we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose. This does not reduce any right you have under section 54 or section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Suspension and closing your account
9.1 You may close your account at any time by emailing info@akurra.ai. We will refund unused bought credits within the cooling-off period and otherwise as section 5.7 says.
9.2 We may suspend or close your account if you materially breach these terms, if we must do so by law, or if we close the Service. Unless the breach is serious or the law prevents it, we will give you notice and a chance to put it right first. If we close the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will refund unused bought credits.
9.3 When an account closes, we delete or anonymise its records as our Privacy Notice describes, except what we must keep by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when a feature is added. We will tell you of material changes by email or in the Service at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the change is required by law sooner. If you do not agree, you may close your account and we will refund unused bought credits. The version and date at the top show which terms apply.
11. Complaints and disputes
11.1 Please raise any complaint with us first at info@akurra.ai. We will acknowledge it within 5 business days and try to resolve it within 20 business days.
11.2 If we cannot resolve it, you may refer a consumer complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or the National Consumer Commission, and a privacy complaint to the Information Regulator (details in our Privacy Notice). Nothing here limits your right to approach a court.
12. General
12.1 These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction, and you consent to the jurisdiction of the Magistrates' Court for any claim within its limits.
12.2 We choose the physical address in section 1 as our address for service of legal documents (domicilium citandi et executandi).
12.3 If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest of these terms remain in force.
12.4 You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over the Service, on notice to you, provided your rights are not reduced.
12.5 These terms, Schedule A and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
Schedule A — Sub-processors
These are the companies that process personal information on our behalf to run the Service. Each one does so only on our instructions, under a written agreement that requires it to keep the information confidential and secure, as section 21 of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) requires. Where information leaves South Africa, section 72 of POPIA applies; the Privacy Notice explains how.
Where your documents go. After your consent at the start of a run, your statements and agreements, with the account numbers and rates in them, pass through our application servers (the Microsoft Azure row) to the AI provider below. The figures your device computes are sent the same way once, for the plain-language review. No other company in this table receives them, and your report itself is never sent to any of them.
| Sub-processor | What it does for us | Information it handles | Where | Active |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic, PBC | AI provider for Deep Analysis: reads figures out of the documents you add, and writes the plain-language review | After your consent at the start of each run: the text or page images of the documents you add; for the review, the figures your device computed and the terms read from your agreement (never your name or account number) | United States | Yes, in every run, after your consent |
| FiberPulse (Pty) Ltd | Hosting: the server that runs our sign-in and account database, and our server monitoring | Account details, sign-in records, server logs | South Africa [to be supplied: data-centre location] | Yes |
| Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd / Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Azure) | Hosting: runs our application servers, which keep credit, payment and run records and pass a Deep Analysis request to the AI provider; delivers the pages of the app and the website; sends account emails (invitations, password resets, receipts and security alerts) | Your account identifier with your credit, payment and run records; the content of the documents you add, on its way to the AI provider, and its encrypted result for at most 15 minutes; your email address, name and the content of the emails we send you; server logs; your IP address when a page is delivered | South Africa (Azure South Africa North) for the application servers, their records and their logs; Azure's Africa data location for email; pages are delivered from Microsoft's global network | Yes |
| Click2Pay (DebiBridge (Pty) Ltd) | Card payments for buying credits, on its own hosted payment page | Payment amount and reference; your card details are entered on, and kept by, the provider, never by us | South Africa | Not yet — card payments are switched off |
Not sub-processors. The South African Reserve Bank's published prime-rate series is public reference data we download; nothing about you is sent to fetch it. Our website's fonts and code are part of the website itself and are delivered with its pages, with no third-party trackers, advertising or analytics.
Changes. We will update this schedule before a new sub-processor starts handling your information, and will tell you by email at least 14 days before a new sub-processor receives document content. If you object, you can stop using the feature concerned or close your account and receive a refund of unused bought credits.
